Osage is the county seat of Mitchell County Iowa. Predominately rural, our county includes three school districts with high schools located in Osage, St. Ansgar and Riceville.
We are located about a half-hour south of Austin, Minnesota; about one hour southwest of Rochester,Minnesota; about half-hour east of Mason City, Iowa; about an hour and a half north of Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Iowa....and about two and a half hours south of the Twin Cities.
Osage has its own paved 3500 foot paved runway and for commercial activity the airports in Rochester and Mason City as well as Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport are an easy drive.
